Auto RepairMechanical repair in north Austin — diagnostics, brakes, suspension, electrical.
The auto repair side of Ibra Auto LLC handles everything that is not collision work — brakes, suspension, electrical diagnostics, AC, alternators, starters, engine sensors, and the dozens of weird "the car is making a noise" jobs that come through every week. The mechanics share the same Daisy Drive shop as the body crew, so when a car comes in for collision repair and we find a mechanical issue (or vice versa), it gets fixed in the same building without you having to drive across town for a second appointment. We do not specialize in one make — we work on Toyota, Honda, Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Dodge, Jeep, Volkswagen, BMW, and most other passenger vehicles.
Auto repair services we handle
Most days we see a mix of brake jobs, suspension work, AC complaints (which is most of the calendar in Austin), check-engine-light diagnostics, and starting / charging problems. We are not the shop to come to for engine rebuilds or transmission overhauls on exotic vehicles — but for everyday mechanical work on common cars, the price and turnaround are usually better than dealer service. We use OEM or quality aftermarket parts depending on your budget and the part itself.
- Brakes — pads, rotors, calipers, brake fluid flush
- Suspension — struts, shocks, control arms, bushings
- AC service — recharge, leak testing, compressor replacement
- Electrical diagnostics — battery, alternator, starter, sensors
- Check-engine-light diagnostics and emissions
- Tune-ups, oil changes, fluid services, tire rotation
- Estimates given before work begins — no upsell
- Old parts shown to you on request
- OEM or aftermarket choice based on your preference
- Daisy Drive location, easy access from I-35 and Dessau
- 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty on most repairs
How we do auto repair differently
Most independent auto repair shops in Austin are good. The thing we do that bigger places do not is show you the worn-out parts after they are replaced — the cracked rotor, the leaking strut, the cooked alternator — and we explain why we replaced what we replaced. If a part can be cleaned, adjusted, or reused, we do that and we tell you instead of pushing a needless replacement. The same family has owned this shop since 2010, and the only way that math works long-term is honest repeat customers.

Auto Repair FAQ
Common questions we hear from Austin customers.
How much do brakes cost in Austin?
For a typical sedan, pads and rotors on one axle run $250–$450. All four corners (full brake job) is usually $500–$900. SUVs and trucks are slightly higher because the parts are bigger. We use a mix of OEM and trusted aftermarket pads — your choice.
Why is my AC blowing warm? Can you fix it?
In Austin summer, the most common AC complaint is low refrigerant from a slow leak. We do a leak test ($150–$200), find the leak, repair the component (O-ring, hose, compressor seal), and recharge the system. If your compressor is dead, that is a bigger job — typically $700–$1,300 including labor.
My check engine light is on. Can you diagnose it?
Yes. We hook up a scan tool, pull the codes, and road-test if needed. Most check engine lights resolve to one of a dozen common issues — O2 sensor, EVAP leak, misfire, mass airflow sensor. Diagnostic fee is $80–$120 and goes toward the repair if you choose to fix it here.
Do you do oil changes?
Yes. Standard oil change is $50–$70 depending on oil type. Full synthetic is more. We rotate tires for free with the oil change and check fluids while we are under there.
Will my repair be covered by warranty?
Most repairs come with a 12-month / 12,000-mile parts and labor warranty. There are exceptions (used parts, customer-supplied parts), but we tell you exactly what is covered before the job starts.
Can you work on my [make/model]?
Almost certainly. We work on essentially all passenger vehicles — domestic, Japanese, Korean, German. We are not specialists in exotics (Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini) or highly modified diesels. Call with the year/make/model and we will tell you straight up if it is in our wheelhouse.
