Why we pay more than the salvage yard
Most salvage yards are buying for scrap weight only — they do not care what is bolted to the chassis. Because we run an active body shop, the parts that are still good on your wrecked car have value to us beyond scrap weight. Will you buy a car that has a salvage title?
Yes. Salvage and rebuilt titles are normal for us. We buy roughly 30–40% of our cars with salvage titles. The price is lower than a clean title on the same vehicle, but the difference is usually smaller than people expect.
My car was just in an accident — can you pick it up from the tow yard?
Yes. Tow-yard storage charges add up fast (often $50–$100/day), so the sooner you call the better. We coordinate directly with the tow yard, pay their fees out of the offer, and net you the difference in cash.
The airbags deployed. Does that hurt the price?
A little, because the airbag system is expensive to replace and reduces the rebuild value. But cars with deployed airbags still sell — we have bought hundreds of them. Send a photo and we will quote it accurately.
How much is a totaled car worth?
It ranges widely. A 5-year-old totaled SUV with a clean title can clear $3,000–$6,000 from us. A 15-year-old wrecked sedan might be $400–$900. The biggest factors are year, make, weight, and what parts are still usable on the vehicle.
Can I keep the wheels or stereo before you pick it up?
Yes — but tell us first so we can re-quote without those parts. The price reflects what is actually on the car at pickup. Taking parts off after the quote without saying anything changes the math at pickup.
Do I need to sign anything?
You sign the back of the title (Texas Title Transfer section), your ID is photographed, and you sign a one-page bill of sale we bring with us. That is the entire paperwork. Title transfer with the Texas DMV is our responsibility from there.
